Guest Speaker: Wendy Kotilla of the Youth and Ecological Restoration Program
YER provides youth aged twelve to eighteen with one-on-one work experience through ecological restoration methods, ecotherapy practices and mentoring support. Youth learn social, practical and communication skills to motivate them in becoming confident, respectful and productive members of our society.
Wendy Kotilla created YER in 2004 based on her own youth experiences of being constantly outdoors, surrounded by the healing powers of nature. She has a Restoration of Natural Systems Diploma from University of Victoria, and Negotiation and Mediation Certificates from the Justice Institute of BC. Her experience includes thirty years in Ecological Restoration and Restorative Justice. She received the UVic 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award for the YER program.
Please join us for the regular club meeting of the Rotary Club of Comox Valley! Not a member? Feel free to come and see what we’re all about.
A cash bar is available featuring the amazing 40 Knots wine, as well as a small selection of beer. Meetings often feature a few snacks, but no formal meal.
