Our inaugural club meeting is upon us!

Please join us for the first regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Comox Valley! We are excited to begin building our club relationships and discuss our goals and direction for the coming year!

There are 2 ticket options:

  1. Food and door ticket – this includes access to the TRIA Catering charcuterie platter, which will have an amazing variety of cheeses, sliced meats, marinated/pickled/raw vegetables, nuts, dips, flat breads and crackers.
  2. Door ticket only – for those who prefer not to eat, this covers the room cost only.

Agenda will be as follows:

  • 6:30pm – doors open for socializing
  • 7:00pm – Meal begins
  • 7:20pm – President’s address
    • Sharing some of the ideas and key takeaways learned from attending the Pacific Northwest President’s Elect Training Feb 23-25 in Tacoma, WA.
  • 7:40pm – Stu Tunheim (Assistant Governor for our area)
    • Rotary Core Values – presentation and discussion.
    • Q&A
  • 8:00pm – Club Goals and Aspirations
    • How do we want to start our community impact?
    • Where would we like to be in 12 months?
      • How many members do we have?
      • How much club money do we have in the bank?
      • How much money have we raised for the Rotary Foundation?
    • What would we like to achieve in our first Rotary year?
      • Imagine it’s June 2019:
        • How have we made a difference in the community?
        • How often have we worked in cooperation with other Rotary clubs?
  • 8:15pm – Club traditions and culture
    • What do we want our club experience to be?
    • How much time/energy do we want to devote to building internal relationships?
    • Do we sing… ?
  • 8:25pm – Topics from the floor?
  • 8:30pm – Thank guests for joining us (guests excused).
  • 8:40pm – Member-only discussion session regarding bylaw amendments:
    • Overview of current bylaws.
    • Membership approval process. Discuss and determine a draft process on how new members will be accepted into the Club.
    • Committee participation. Should we require all members to ‘associate’ with a committee?
    • Topics from the floor?
  • 8:50pm – Wrap up and recap.
  • 9:00pm – Adjourn meeting
